Vision

"Where there is no revelation [or prophetic vision]...." Once we lose sight of God, we begin to be reckless. We cast off certain restraints from activities we know are wrong. We set prayer aside as well and cease having God's vision in the little things of life. We simply begin to act on our own initiative... We have lost the vision. Is our attitude today an attitude that flows from our vision of God? Are we expecting God to do greater things than he has ever done before?" - My Utmost ~ May 9th

I sure can see this to be the case in my life... There have definitely been times that I have allowed myself to be reckless and fallen out of step with the things the Lord has spoken to me in the secret place. The thing that amazes me is how easily I allow myself to justify such things at those times.

Oswald goes on to say, "Is there a freshness and a vitality in our spiritual outlook?" Great question, one that I probably need to ask myself regularly... What is God saying to me RIGHT NOW? What's he speaking to you (if you're reading this)? Click comment right under this and let me know, I'd love to read it.

Hi Miles,
It is a good question to being asking regularly. The Lord has been speaking a verse to me of recent, one that I don't fully understand, but I am meditating, and watching for clarity. I had this happen another time long ago, when I heard the Lord say to my spirit; "take the city by siege, go up and lay siege to the city."
I knew it had to do with prayer, but wasn't sure exactly, what, when, where or how. Since that time, I have come to understand, that HE has given us powerful weapons, with which to pull down the strongholds of the enemy, by the fervent and effectual prayers we offer, and proper understanding and use of His word.. the sword of the spirit. I believe in reminding God of His promises, His word, in prayer, as I interceed.
The current word is this; "The heavens suffer violence, the violent take it by force." I presume this verse also has to do with an aspect of prayer and intercession. I would appreciate any insights you may share... anyones... I am always asking God to help me press in closer to Him, in prayer, and to help me fight the fight as a good soldier. Lord, in your mercy, grant us to have fresh vision of Your glory, and a zeal to walk in Your Spirit, and help to establish Your kingdom here on the earth, that Your will be done here as in Heaven...

It is true that we must have vitality in our walk with Christ, for did He not say that we are the salt of the earth and "salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?" (Luke 14:34) In my quiet time this week, God has been teaching me about wisdom. While reading through 1 Samuel right now, I have found a sharp distinction between the foolishness of Saul, and the wisdom and faith of David. 1 Sam. 18:14 says, "And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him." The Lord found in David a steadfast heart, a heart that cried to be cleansed with hyssop and made new, a heart that sought His ways. But Lord, how is wisdom to be obtained?..."But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5)..." sounds too simple...but that is the beauty of it...the simplicity of childlike faith..."but let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind" (James 1:6). Increase my faith Lord that I might continually say, "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast...I will praise you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. For your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clounds" (Psalm 57:7,9-10).
